Module 6 - Agri-Systems Across the Urban-Rural Gradient
Module 6 examines food production across the urban-rural gradient, exploring how location shapes sustainability, efficiency, and resource use. Students analyze farming systems from balcony gardens to large-scale operations, learning to optimize space, labor, and logistics while minimizing environmental impact.
Students will design climate-smart growing systems that conserve water, reuse waste, and close resource loops across different zones. Using real-world data and efficiency metrics, learners calculate resource-use ratios and defend food production models based on sustainability trade-offs and practical constraints.

Hands-on activities are interactive experiments to let you explore biological concepts through observation, measurement, and data collection.
